I don't think the flood was global but rather largely regional. Noah's sons and their wives had kids, but they didn't have to repopulate the planet.

> I THINK there is mention of other people on the boat

No, just Noah and his wife, their 3 sons and their wives—8 people in all. No stowaways like the Russel Crowe/Emma Watson movie, which was quite the joke as far as representing the Flood story.

> but my recollection is that just Noah and his crew were there

No crew, just 8 family members.

> So was his family on the hook to repopulate the human race?

No. There were still plenty of homo sapiens on the planet.

Did Noah's family repopulate the entire globe after the great flood?

Context - I was a born again, hardcore Christian for the first 20 years of my life or so. I fell out of religion when I joined the military and started to read some books on my own. While I am an Atheist, I am also a UU. While I don't believe in the Bible as an answer book, I do know the value in religion.

That said, I have no idea why I have never heard this addressed. Did Noah's family have to get off of the boat and start procreating right away? I THINK there is mention of other people on the boat, but my recollection is that just Noah and his crew were there. So was his family on the hook to repopulate the human race?

Thanks !
