How do you reconcile your morals with God’s morals in the OT

For those who acknowledge the OT as true: How do you reconcile your morals with God’s morals in the OT?

it’s not to say that the NT is any better, moral wise, but many Christians when challenged on God’s actions in the OT, it can always be met with “But that’s the OT!”

I acknowledge the OT as true.

The God of the OT is moral. He is good. His character is righteousness. To attribute immorality to YHWH is a misunderstanding of His nature and a distortion of the Scriptural record. We'd have to talk about what specifics.
